CHS partners with GFI through the Passports to Possibility program. Students participate in a structured experience that combines cultural education, reflection, and mentorship, with the goal of expanding global awareness and leadership capacity over time.


South of Eight

Detroit, MI

Through this partnership, South of Eight and GFI will work alongside Detroit Public Schools youth to deepen their connection to the city they call home, giving them real access to Detroit’s culture, creative economy, and the opportunities that live right in their own neighborhoods. From immersive city experiences to hands-on learning that bridges culture and career, this partnership is about making sure the next generation of Detroiters don’t just survive in this city, they lead it.

Morocco, Africa

Riad Chekaram serves as a cultural and educational host for GFI’s international programming. The partnership supports immersive learning  that emphasize cultural understanding, local engagement, and reflection beyond tourism.


Northern Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters

Detroit, MI

The Northern Midwest Regional Council of Construction Workers & Millwrights is a founding funding partner of the Global Futures Initiative, providing a $5,000 investment that fully funded our first Passports to Possibility international experience. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to access, opportunity, and long-term pathways for young people, connecting global learning with skilled trades exposure and future workforce pipelines across the Midwest.
